SALT QUENCH

Cooling operation, steels previously heated, by immersion in a fluid, by spraying a fluid, or by blowing air or a controlled atmosphere. Cooling is carried out in a controlled manner (speed, temperature) depending on the characteristics targeted.
Salt bath quenching consists of cooling by immersion in a tank of molten salts, brought to a temperature allowing slow and homogeneous cooling of the steels. It allows in particular the reduction of deformations.
