AIR QUENCH

Cooling operation, previously heated steels, by immersion in a fluid, by spraying a fluid, or by blowing air. The cooling is carried out in a controlled manner (speed, temperature) according to the targeted characteristics.
Air quenching consists of forced air cooling, inducing a slow cooling medium. Used in particular for the hardening of so-called “self-hardening” steels
